Regret holds you to a higher standard than even you are able to maintain, it says:

“I knew all the answers, I knew what was going to happen, I knew better.”

Maybe sometimes you did, but usually, you were just trying to cope & survive within a context that was unfamiliar or scary.

Show yourself compassion.

Show yourself curiosity.

Meet yourself from where you were, not from where you are now.
