Really enjoyed @jeremygordon.bsky.social's SEE FRIENDSHIP. A poke in the ribs of an industry where you make your living in 900-word slices of context (that you might not actually understand) and Podcast as Lifeline, with a mystery that moves, a lot of heart and finding peace in the unknown.

Disney World really brings out the inner child in me -- the one who wondered about extremely practical things like "is being one of the monkeys in The Festival of The Lion King a pretty good job in the world of gymnasts, all things considered?"

I wrote about something I've been thinking about for a long time. A kind of post-ironic collapse in our politics and culture where nihilism has become the lingua franca of the internet and beyond. It links Kirk, Clavicular, Epstein, memestock/coin stuff, mass shooters. I hope you'll read it.
This Is What It Looks Like When Nothing Matters
Welcome to the internet’s nihilism crisis.

This pops up every once in awhile and I always share it. Wu Tang goes in and out of popularity with the times, but there's no denying there was a Dream Team level of talent and brilliance on that roster. True artists.

Re-listening to The Adventure Zone from the start, and I had totally forgotten that Amnesty had a park ranger named Juno Devine, and I renew my insistence that she was named after me, because I tweeted about the show a lot, and I have not yet been told I was wrong, so that works for me

There's a million Chris Paul moments, of all shapes, sizes and emotional valences. The one jumping out to me today: him finishing off the Pelicans with a damn near perfect game, then giving Jose Alvarado half a bar. Bon voyage, you competitive psycho. www.theringer.com/2022/04/29/n...
No One Closes Like the Point God
Chris Paul looked like he smelled blood in the water in Game 6, relentlessly attacking the Pelicans until the final horn offered mercy. After being pestered all series, the Suns star responded with pe...

I think the additions of Alvarado and Sochan dramatically increase the likelihood of a Knick defender antagonizing an opponent into a blind rage, which can have its value
Free agent forward Jeremy Sochan plans to sign with the New York Knicks after he clears waivers, his agent Deirunas Visockas of Gersh Sports tells ESPN. Sochan had 10 interested suitors after being released from the Spurs on Thursday and landed on the Knicks as his new team.

I've been told that my post relating JJJ's diagnosis to Brandon Clarke's was wrong. @drniravpandya.bsky.social: "Synovitis is a blanket term to describe joint inflammation. PVNS is a condition due to an abnormal growth of the synovium which can lead to 'masses' in the knee."

Deleted previous post!

Final tally for JJJ + Lauri this season: +13 in 49 minutes. (Six minutes with them and Keyonte George.) See ya in the fall.

Again, can't speak for everybody, but my view is that the Pacers aren't getting overlooked as much as they're getting the benefit of the doubt from people that saw them get to within arm's reach of the mountaintop and lose their best player for a year. I think people are like, "Yeah, OK, I get it."
The Pacers are the team under the tank radar and even with losing Hali for the season, I can’t understand how they’re getting over looked after a finals run last season.

I can't speak for the entirety of NBA media over years, but they were our entry point because we start every show with a Big Number — hence the name — to kick off a discussion. We picked 0, as in "how many 4Q minutes Jaren Jackson Jr. had played since the trade." From there, we had a broader chat.
Why are the Jazz always the main target of the tanking issue?
February 12, 2026 at 4:11 PM
The Jazz were the entry point, but we also talked about the Pacers, the Wizards, the Grizzlies, the Nets and a bunch of other teams. The whole thing is exhausting, and has been for more than a decade. And yet, here we still are!
I'm exhausted by the Jazz focus on tanking. People aren't paying attention to what 10 teams are doing to tank nightly. Here is the Jazz vs Pacers matchup this month. The highlighted starters all played for Indy the night before...

I have been reminded that, early in this episode, I compared Jusuf Nurkic to a labubu. We're sending that portion down to the lab to have the boys go over it for clues that might help establish my mental state.
