I go here and there. Sometimes I take pictures while I’m there.

If you see an ICE agent, know that they’re governed by no laws, have no red lines, don’t follow the Constitution, and can’t be stopped.

They’re going to do whatever they feel like.

They are American Gestapo—literally. They’re the federal stormtroopers the right wing spent 100 years worrying about.

I’m less concerned about part of the White House being torn down, and more concerned about the fact that it’s being replaced with a $250m privately funded ballroom. I don’t think people who intend to leave office in 3 years typically spend a quarter of a billon on a 4 year construction project.
That untapped human potential is still out there; it’s a great opportunity for universities outside the US to start courting those intellectuals.

When an empire starts burning libraries it’s up to outsiders to preserve the spark of human ingenuity.

Trump and his fellow fascists are flooding us with abusive propaganda intended to crush our will.

This is a preview of a possible future and one that will come to pass unless we wrestle with the reality of our crisis and fight for a different future.

A Possible Future is Here
We don't have to imagine what a fascist future will feel like anymore. We're living in it and it's time to defeat it before it gets worse

A few months until my line check… but only a month or so until recurrent sim.

I may have to go in for some extra practice just to get myself re-oriented.
Too busy with those TPS reports to visit your parents? Let AI send you texts and emails from “mom and dad” while we ship them off to the Soylent Green factory!
With Orion back in the night sky I guess I should have been more circumspect when pointing out Betelgeuse.

It rarely crosses my mind to check if there were any live feeds after I land.

This was the first time I thought to check AND actually found one.

Happy that it was a decent enough landing to warrant saving the evidence.
He’d probably let the cartels set up shop in a national park if they set him up with another sweet-ass airplane.
And they have to carry their alien card with them at all times for when ICE brownshirts demand to see their papers.

For Canadians in search of warmer climes, Mexico is very nice (ditto Portugal, Vietnam, Thailand, Colombia, Italy…)
The original plans surely exist in an archive somewhere.

If the U.S. can claw back from the abyss it’d be nice to see the WH restored… sorta like watching the statues toppling down when other strongmen are ousted from power.
And he’s only part way through his first year

VLADDY JR IS THE FIRST PERSON IN A LEAFS JERSEY TO WIN A GAME SEVEN IN OVER 20 YEARS
I’m one of the training department folks - I was training another captain.

Lots of new 330 captains coming on line this month; I haven’t sat in my “natural” seat since mid-September
A spotter in LHR recorded one of my landings. I was flying this one from the wrong (right) seat, but it wasn’t too shabby.

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.

And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power.

When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.
You know that weird feeling the day after a vacation?

Yesterday you were on the beach or at Disney World and today you’re back at the grocery store buying eggs.

That’s my entire life as a pilot. Monday: the Rhine. Wednesday: dry cleaning. Friday: London. Today: kid’s swimming lessons.

I’m hoping Wes Anderson gets the story rights.

I wanna see Owen Wilson, Mathieu Amalric and Jason Schwartzman doing some very symmetrical capers.
A little bit of opera and a little bit of puppet show at Covent Garden.

Even if there was strong evidence of drugs on board, being a drug mule isn’t a capital crime… and no matter what the severity of the crime people are entitled to a trial.

The 100 lowest-paying US corporations spent $644B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned $35k last year.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $17.2M

See the problem?
With the electoral college you can get a lot more granular than that.

I mean, a million more white people or non-voters turning out for Harris in California wouldn’t have changed the result.

A few thousand people (of any stripe) in a few key districts in swing states could have tipped the scale.
