Props this week to Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Laura Loomer, and Kevin Stitt for all saying something true about what's going on.

👏

Makes me think Swalwell might not be just wish-casting...

Minimum wage workers usually don't get a company healthcare plan so the ACA is their only option for affordable healthcare

If WAGES were higher then ACA subsidies wouldn't be necessary but that's not the case

In slow motion the ball was clearly left of the pole and the shadow of the ball was visible on the foul pole. Darling seemed to not be able to see any of that.

a lot of people are finally waking up to the importance of the 3rd amendment. As a 3A absolutist, i think it should be illegal for soldiers to be quartered anywhere in this country. they should be camping under the open sky at all times. all military bases and barracks are unconstitutional.

The two most annoying players in this series are Marsh (the always wet thing) and Kiké Hernández (everything). Edge to Hernández.

Roman Polanski comes to mind. Chinatown and Rosemary's Baby are amazing films, but I won't watch anything he made after 1977. When I worked in advertising I refused an assignment on his version of Oliver Twist.

I don't know what answer Shapiro was hoping for, but he was not worthy of this one.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Apple needs to come up with a better reason or let this app back into the App Store.

I'm done with Apple gear buying until that happens. And seriously looking at getting out of the ecosystem.
zachpennington.com
I think this bit means that if your app's icon is a laughing crying emoji, you're in the clear.

"Professional political satirists and humorists are generally exempt from this requirement."

Or I can pay you $5 for a joke. That would also qualify, right?

So... ICE is a "targeted group"?

"In the emails, Apple says Eyes Up violates the company’s guidelines around objectionable content. That can include “Defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content,... if the app is likely to humiliate, intimidate, or harm a targeted individual or group.”
zachpennington.com
Well, that was nauseating. Great career, shitty person.

Agreed. When the majority of your product's use case is "meme-generator" or "spam facilitator"...

So the people causing the shutdown are getting paid. The people keeping the country running don’t.

And Speaker Mike Johnson won’t let the House come back to work. So basically they’re on a paid vacation while Americans miss paychecks.

Did I get that right?

"So, Democrats have three words for this: no fucking way. It's literally life or death. We will not let Republicans blow up our health care system."

This is, hands down, the best comms work Chuck Schumer has done in YEARS. Surprisingly good.

It's been two weeks since Adelita Grijalva was elected and Mike Johnson has still refused to seat her, unlike in past cases where he swore in new members within 24 hours.

There cannot be one set of rules for Rs and another for Ds.

Also, release the damn Epstein files already.

“I just saw a headline.”

My man, you are the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE. I wouldn’t accept this level of analysis from my middle-school kids.

Trump wants to bomb Portland bc of bad b-roll footage. Johnson’s about to break laws bc of a, what? Reddit headline?

What are we doing here?
atrupar.com
Johnson: "It's true that in previous shutdowns, many or most furloughed employees have been paid for the time they were furloughed, but there is new legal analysis - I don't know the details, I just saw a headline - but there are some legal analysts saying that might not be appropriate or necessary"
