I think Nintendo should lean all the way in on Samus getting quipped to the whole game. The nerd guy should die but the alien planet absorbs him and all the mushrooms on the planet should talk to you in his voice. They should ask Samus about her weekend plans. Make it a complete introvert nightmare.

my Discourse Take is that i also dislike talkative metroid man, but games have been inundated with yapper sidekicks for ages, so it coming for Metroid isn't overly shocking. i still got enough Vibes and Atmosphere and Exploration to feel like it hasn't spoiled the stew yet.

Absolutely. But, then again, by selling d2c Valve doesn't have to pay retailer margins.
Same kind of thinking had many publishers create their own PC digital storefronts to not pay Valve a cut to sell on Steam.
Maybe Valve will decide selling at retail is worth that cut, like pubs did for Steam.

The very important thing to remember when talking Valve and its ceiling compared to, say, Microsoft, is that you can not walk into a Walmart and buy a Steam Deck. You have to be enough of an enthusiast to know what it is and where to find it. That's the #1 thing holding Valve back.

Damn I been thirsting for some more R&C content, but didn’t have this on my Bingo Card for it. I’ll give it a shot but I expect the F2P nonsense to make me bounce off it as usual but we’ll see. Hope to be pleasantly surprised.
Super Mario Galaxy remains my favorite video game of all time so I didn’t need this trailer to convince me to see the movie but goddamn is my hype level thru the roof after seeing it. Rosalina will always be my fav of the Nintendo Princesses and I cannot get over how incredible they made her look! 😍

I really hope we find out the real story behind this ridiculous feature sometime down the road after the game is out. Something this bizarre doesn’t make it in what appears to be a very full and fleshed out big game release without some kind of interesting story behind it.
