Folks if you usually do end-of-year/holiday charity giving, consider moving it up to the beginning of November instead and hit up however many local food pantries you can afford to give to. (Check if you or a spouse/partner's employer does charity matching, too.)

Mercury, on the other hand, given her "upbringing" in Garlemald and the testing in their labs, would be a lot more suspicious of it, wondering if it's a trick or some sick joke. It would definitely take time for her to warm up to them, but she would eventually accept them as her own.

I think Zeye would be vvv delighted tbh. He's got a fair amount of kiddos between biologically having them and adopting the Loporrits/other kiddos, what's one more? No questions asked, Zeye's taking them in.

But yeah, I think in those situations, they want to flash their "I'm a good person, see???" card without actually doing the work. It boils down to they want to be seen as doing the work without actually doing anything so they can remain in their comfy bubble.
