He approaches Haurchefant and kisses his cheek gently.

Ziero will usually use 'boku' for most conversations, but if its a setting that requires formalities or a person he respects, he'll use 'watashi'

As the player character, our WoLs/OCs don't have voiced lines. But also, FFXIV is a Japanese game.

So with that: If your character had voiced lines in the game, what pronouns in Japanese would they use to refer to themselves? Watashi, ore, boku, something else?

Ziero, Kari, and Ryou all have a small sprinkle of self insert to them but they are their own person at the end of the day. I made them, watched them grow, and they set out on their own adventures from there!

When I manage to piece the lore together one of these days, I plan to stick with the way it is, however I may break some of it depending on situations that I feel would be different based on my WoL (And some stuff would be ignored, like certain characters getting off'd wouldn't happen lol) #wolqotd

canonically, we're a little lacking on Viera lore... have you created your own lore to fill in the gaps? does it apply to all Viera? Only Veena or Rava? Is it unique to your WoL/OCs home?

Tbh, I've just always loved Dragoon, especially after seeing Freya in FF9. So the moment I found that was an option, Ziero became a DRG main. He originally started as BLM main lol

Kaiyle has always been a WHM. Simply because upon starting FFXIV, I fell in love with the Cleric gear. Still use it today!

I agree with the tired older sister or wine aunt for sure. I've not played 14 in Japanese yet but ive seen some quotes and translations which like you said have that mom-like tone but....I agree that I can't see her in that position x.x
