On 1 January the russian military threw two guided bombs on the enclosures of birds and tigers of the Kharkiv eco park. Many birds killed, injured tigers are hiding in the destroyed enclosure.
Russia hit an eco-park near Kharkiv with a glide bomb, injuring lions, killing most birds, and destroying winter enclosures, says founder Feldman. A volunteer was hurt; tigers’ status is unclear. Cleanup and animal rescue continue.

Language is important. When a war of aggression is called “[victim’s name] + conflict”, the focus on the aggressor is lost. Make sure to always remember and pronounce the name of the aggressor. It should not be “they-who-not-be-named”. Justice starts with small steps.

I’ve had this thought brewing for a while now.
I think Ukrainians are treated very similarly to women who survive abuse by famous men and dare to speak up - forced to watch their abuser be celebrated every day while their pain is dismissed, again and again. It’s soul-crushing.
