2025 summary: ruzzia took 0.8% of Ukraine.

On pace to take Ukraine in 125 years😂

And it gets worse: They had roughly 416,570 casualties.

They don’t have 416,570*125= 52 million orcs!

I wrote a piece in the paper today:

Once again, Norwegian military support to Ukraine is being cut, completely without democratic debate.

Atter en gang kuttes det i norsk militær støtte til Ukraina, helt uten demokratisk debatt

NEW: The Iranian regime is currently engaged in an unprecedented level of brutality to suppress protests. The actual death toll is likely higher relative to the 1,500 people killed during the 2019 protests, though CTP-ISW cannot independently determine the number of protester deaths. (1/3)

The fastest way to end the war in Ukraine is to make it unsustainable for Russia.

That requires helping Ukraine scale up drone and missile production to intensify the pressure on Russia’s economy.

It’s that simple

Spent the last few days in Ukraine where the security forces are heavily armed, but polite and under control. I never had the slightest worry that they would shoot an unarmed person at close distance and celebrate it.

The recipe for peace:

Western economic pressure on russia, and military aid to Ukraine.

NOT negotiations.

Talk of negotiations now tells putin he should continue the war.

He will only negotiate when he sees his weakness.

NATO served us well.

But it’s over.

Let’s start over with a new alliance.

Upside: We can get rid of Trojan horses like the US, Turkey, Hungary, Slovakia.

Unless they change course.

The Iranian government has decided to try to kill its way out of civil unrest. This rarely works, and in the long run, it nearly guarantees the perpetrators an ugly end.
New: “Fears are growing that the number of protesters killed by Iranian security forces now reaches into the thousands…cell phone footage has emerged of truck-mounted machine guns strafing residential streets, hospitals swamped by shooting victims, and a morgue overwhelmed by hundreds of bodies”
Death Toll in Iran May Already Be in the Thousands
No precise toll can be ascertained, but a group estimates that protester deaths may have reached 6,000 through Saturday.
