Recently my car had an issue. I was driving home, when suddenly the car wouldn't let me turn right. I could go slightly right, but it just wasn't working. I could only go left. Seems like a symbol of our politics these days, but some insist on fighting to turn right, closer and closer to a crash.

Post offices still use dial up to communicate ffs, we could invest in updating them to the modern day instead of throwing them in the bin.

Building out infrastructure to deliver high speed internet to rural areas. Postal banking, possibly as a community credit union. Both have the potential to make money and both fit within the scope of "nation building projects".

In order: they already don't do that, they're legislatively not allowed to do that, and that's not how that works.
zyo117.bsky.social
Yeah. Not cut. And cut. Postal banking is one idea. It could even be set up as a local credit union. Having canada post deliver high speed internet to rural areas is another, both of which would fit the nationbuilding projects idea.

Yeah, our main water source is a lake that you can visibly see is down about 30+ feet this year, which is the lowest I've seen it. Like I said, not trying to negate the impact of climate change. We see it too. Just worth noting that the private sector won't address those issues if they can avoid it.
zyo117.bsky.social
Well. I would chime in to say that might also have something to due with a lack of maintenance on the mains due to privatisation that's led to a hell of a lot of water loss. But not discounting the impact of climate change either.

Even if true, instead of just making it so anybody can go to a doctor for whatever their reason, they're going to take healthcare away from millions of people. They don't just not want social health care. They don't want people to have healthcare at all. If you're not a millionaire, deal with it.

If you're still having to prune the yard, it's not natural, it's landscaped with native plants. As a monoculture, creeping thyme is better. Doesn't need mowing.

The government going all in on AI tech at this late stage of the AI bubble at the expense of the people is going to cause more pain for us than Nortel's death.

And it became a big thing post ww2 because grass grows fast, good for a clear cut suburb, and nitrogen fertiliser was a great use of the nitrogen used to make bombs for the war.
