Seriously, ofc there’s a big difference between treating international relations as one-time
vs iterated games. But that’s not to say that international law does much. It’s mostly just a reminder of the upside of iteration.

The rules-based international order is when you do whatever the hell you please, but first you peddle a tall tale about WMDs.

Both university neutrality and activist universities are forms of overpoliticisation. We need academic pluralism instead.

I look forward to SCOTUS explaining why Trump has legal immunity qua president, but foreign presidents like Maduro don’t

Trump has a tendency to tell it like it is, gotta give him that

Yes. It’s too scary and too close for comfort, but still.

Stop the cuts! #stopdesloop

The centre: At least we’re not racist!

The right: At least we’re racist!

The left: 🦗🦗🦗

Turnout is key and the centre is prob maxed out already, so exposing Farage as the racist he obviously is may even backfire—at least until anyone can credibly promise actual material improvements.

What Is the Point of Legitimacy? - Enzo Rossi, 2025

Have been thinking about “immigration has been tearing this country apart.” Surely I’m not the only person to think that it isn’t true, but inflamed rhetoric about immigration by politicians is what is tearing this country apart and so statements like that only makes it worse.
Banal observation, sorry, but conversations in Prague really brought home to me that while countries come and go, cities have a historical existence and character that typically is far more resilient.

It’s fine if we’re talking about change mechanism and whether they could work today, yes. But just appealing to past glories is also something people do.

A thing I don’t love about the Left—l do this myself sometimes—is appealing to how we used to do things as an argument for what we should do now: “When we were strong we did stuff like this”. Nostalgia is borderline conservatism. It’s tempting, but no. The way forward is through.
