And the NYT editorial board today: “Under Mr. Trump, Republicans have gone even further. They have become the party that stands in the way of lower energy prices for American households.”

Virginians want good jobs and lower energy costs. That’s why @heinrich.senate.gov and I are forcing a vote TODAY to challenge Trump’s corrupt, cost-raising, job-killing energy agenda.

Good news & bad news story, but I think the good news is bigger and stronger.

For the first time, renewables are generating more power globally than coal.

But in the U.S., where the Trump administration is dismantling support for clean energy, renewables are expected to grow half as fast as previously thought.

Clean energy is cheap energy- so glad @casten.house.gov and @levin.house.gov are leading the charge to fight back against Trump and congressional Rs efforts to enrich their fossil fuel cronies while we all suffer high energy costs and more pollution.

Clean energy is the cheapest, fastest electricity to bring online. And yet, as families & businesses struggle with rising costs, Trump & Republicans' policies are hiking costs further.

@casten.house.gov & @levin.house.gov are introducing their plan to bring cheap, clean energy to all Americans 👏

Thank you @amo.house.gov for standing against Trump and Zeldin’s Climate Denial and Chaos Scheme. You’re fighting for the Ocean State, as always, for now and future generations. Truth: Trump and Zeldin are doing this for their fossil fuel donors. #StopTrumpsClimateChaos #CleanEnergyIsCheaperEnergy

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
What a true and horrible state of affairs @casten.house.gov -Republican administration’s signed environmental laws are being trashed by MAGA, and the Trump toady Zeldin is breaking those laws and his oath with their Climate Denial and Chaos Scheme. #StopTrumpsClimateChaos #CleanEnergyIsCheaperEnergy

Thank you @pingree.house.gov for highlighting the climate impacts on fishermen and working waterfront from 2 back to back extreme storms in 2023, tick-borne diseases on residents and tourists, farmers harmed by spring flooding and summer drought. #StopTrumpsClimateChaos

A lot of Republicans — and some independents — believe the Trump administration’s claim that renewables are responsible for rising power bills.

But independents are far more likely to blame tariffs, the AI data center buildout, and Trump himself.

From our new poll: heatmap.news/politics/hea...
Dot plot titled “Americans Agree About Some Drivers of Electricity Inflation.” Shows percent of U.S. registered voters (Democrats in blue, Independents in gray, Republicans in red) who blame each cause “a lot” or “a little” for rising electricity prices. Highest agreement across all parties: state government (around 85–90%), more demand for electricity (80–85%), and utilities (about 75–80%). Oil and gas industry: Democrats blame more (about 70%), Republicans less (about 55%). Extreme weather: Democrats ~70%, Independents ~60, Republicans ~50. Data centers and grid investments: moderate across all (50–65%). Tariffs: low overall (~35–40%). Strong partisan divergence: Democrats blame Trump and Republicans (~60%) far more than Republicans do (~15), while Republicans blame Biden and Democrats (~70%) more than Democrats do (~15). Renewables also split: Republicans ~60%, Democrats ~20.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, it is especially important to celebrate the power that comes from diversity. U.S. Latinos are the embodiment of ‘e pluribus unum’ – out of many, one.

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
Thank you for setting the stage at #CHCI plenary @levin.house.gov - and how we need more clean energy, not fossil fuels, for our climate, communities, and household budgets. #CleanEnergyIsCheaperEnergy

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
Agree @menendez.house.gov that we need to make sure we advance #EnvironmentalJustice so all zipcodes are healthy, & tackle affordability crisis all by getting more clean energy on grids! Trump admin is going the wrong way, even though Texas has lower prices because of wind, solar, & batteries.

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
Thank you @mikelevin.org for telling truth to power - AI should be advancing clean energy to power its electric demands, not dirty energy, and making sure it doesn’t further increase families utility bills. #BYONCE

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
100% agree @mikelevin.org that the cheapest energy is also the cleanest energy- and that unfortunately this Trump administration is trying to push dirty expensive fossil fuels. #CHCIHHM23 @lcv.org

matthewhdavis.bsky.social
Thank you @markmagana.bsky.social for bringing it back to #ClimateCrisis and #CleanAir to challenge utilities to ensure Latine communities are protected from extreme weather and life-shortening health impacts from #DirtyEnergy. #CHCIHHM23 @greenlatinos.org

Appreciate Yvonne McIntyre from PG&E pushing forward with #CleanEnergy, virtual power plants with electric vehicles, and grid enhancing technologies to help drive down #HighEnergyCosts for families and clean up our air. #CHCIHHM23

Agree with Patty Riddlebarer from Entergy on how critical #EnergyEfficiency and #LIHEAP is to help families with energy #affordability. And how challenging the current political environment is for bipartisan programs like these. #CHCIHHM23

Yet another example of Trump admin doing polluters’ bidding, delivering lawless corruption and chaos for the $1B he got from fossil fuel execs.
