Totally agree on another Jason Grumet point (!) at @bipartisanpolicy.org permitting conference- unless there’s a big change from the Trump administration which tried to block $25B in almost complete offshore wind projects only a month ago, then bipartisan permitting reform won’t happen.

I low key agree with Jason Grumet on one point- the Trump administration is breaking norms and trying to block all clean energy and without changes to that we are looking at a dystopian future. @bipartisanpolicy.org permitting conference

The INGAA speaker probably could see my eye roll from the back at @bipartisanpolicy.org permitting conference when she complained that people don’t want more of their polluting pipelines and infrastructure in their communities & fight at every step. Hopeful note: communities know pipelines pollute!

At @bipartisanpolicy.org permitting reform hearing Rep. Gabe Evan take aim at the Clean Air Act, lying about how wildfire smoke events are dealt with- these are called exceptional events and absolutely do not mean local industry has to reduce their pollution.

Was that a Freudian slip because his Big Oil friends are always in his ear about how ethanol is really just a plot of China’s trying to unseat American Fossil Dominance?

Republicans promised to deliver for farmers and families. Instead, they excluded farm aid, family aid and year-round E15 from their government funding bill. It’s time Republicans grow a spine or admit they won’t.

We had a deal on the table to allow the year-round sale of E15, but House Republicans couldn’t get out of their own way.

At a time when markets for Illinois farmers are being decimated by President Trump’s trade wars, they deserve better than this uncertainty.

My brain just melted in multiple ways but particularly the last bit- “people don’t do this w/out people in power making it seem ok.”

1. Trump gave the middle finger and said “F you” to a UAW worker ‘proudly’ just two days ago.
2. ICE guys aren’t known for their mild manners and polite words.
Leavitt complains that protesters are pointing their middle fingers at ICE vehicles
There are places where Trump, as president, has broad freedom of action. And there are places where Trump, as president, has been able to act unilaterally because the main point of opposition, Congress (and SCOTUS), support his program. (1/?)
Leavitt complains that protesters are pointing their middle fingers at ICE vehicles
the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

He really is doing all of it.

For the people in the back: the TRUMP administration is COVERING UP the fact that THEIR ROLLBACKS of environmental safeguards MAKE US UNHEALTHY AND KILL PEOPLE.
For decades, the EPA has done one basic thing when setting clean air rules: weigh the costs to industry against the public health benefits to real people, including fewer asthma attacks, fewer hospital visits, and fewer Americans dying prematurely.

Cancelling tailpipe pollution standards = more costs for families = more profits for oil execs
Tailpipe emissions standards save American families hundreds of dollars each year while also reducing air toxins and climate pollution.

They are a win-win for all of us.

Trump proves once again he is on the side of billionaire polluters who don't care if our lives get worse so long as they profit.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the Roadless Rule. I call on the Trump administration to reverse course and protect our public lands for the next generation and generations to come.

The headlines keep piling up, and Trump and congressional Republicans are calling it a con job and giving handouts to their fossil fuel billionaire cronies instead of offering up real solutions for families struggling with surging costs in energy, healthcare, and groceries. #Coal4Xmas
Starting to notice a trend here 🤔

Appreciate @velazquez.house.gov laying out the costs of Trump’s ban on clean energy and how we should be addressing it instead of the extreme anti-environmental policies served up by Republicans in the House.
"We don’t need to weaken environmental protections to get cheaper, cleaner energy."

@velazquez.house.gov was clear: what we really need are policies to speed up renewable energy deployment and hold polluters accountable.

"That’s how we lower costs." 👏
Opinion: New Yorkers deserve clean and affordable energy, not more fossil fuel greed
Despite what oil lobbyists claim, it’s not true that environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act are slowing down renewable energy projects.

Appreciate @rephuffman.bsky.social leading the charge in exposing these giveaways to polluting execs while the rest of us suffer the high costs and dirty and air water that will result. #Coal4Xmas
“It abandons transparency and accountability while ignoring the single biggest permitting problem facing the energy sector right now: the Trump admin’s all-out war against wind and solar.”

@rephuffman.bsky.social called out Republicans’ SPEED Act that only serves to benefit fossil fuel execs 👇

And, meanwhile, Trump’s and Johnson’s plans to further drive up families’ electric bills: #Coal4Xmas. Arctic sea ice and the mid latitudes be damned, too!

And just last night, hoping no one would notice, Trump’s Department of Energy forced an aging, expensive, dirty coal power plant in WA to stay online, rather than connect cheap clean energy projects. DOE has forced MI’s Campbell coal plant to stay on, already costing families $80M! #Coal4Xmas
Families are paying more and more for electricity, but instead of backing clean, cheap energy that would lower costs and deliver relief, Washington Republicans are siding with polluters over the American people.

Economic fallout and the affordability crisis from Trump’s Big Ugly Bill continue to harm working families.

Dismantling such an essential institution is an assault on science and truth, and a threat to the millions facing extreme weather.
