Former Toronto Blue Jays manager Jimy Williams would've turned 82 today.

He passed away in January 2024.

There was a professional soccer player briefly in MLS named "Hunter Jumper" not necessarily an occupational last name, but delightful nonetheless.

We got a fun update on one of our episodes from a couple years ago! I love that there's someone running social media for a Belgian baseball team who thought "we HAVE to share this hot Joel McKeon news with the 1988 Topps podcast!"

They were right.

Born September 28, 1963 in Knob Knoster, MO, today is Charlie Kerfeld's 62nd birthday! A key part of the 1986 Astros, he went 11-2 with a 2.59 ERA. He liked the Jetsons, pro wrestling, and eating ribs in the bullpen...Charlie is one of our favorites.

we have only briefly mentioned them, I can't remember why?

Beniquez is on our to-do list because he has a SABR bio AND @baseballhall.org Card Corner! But he also played forever, so I have put him off!

Have you guys entered the world of 1988 Topps box bottoms? I forgot about these and why does Juan Beniquez have one?

Why am I looking up Beniquez? I was checking out his BbRef page and saw he played until 88 and wondered if he was in the set

I didn't hear this sad news until now. In addition to his 5 years in the MLB, he spent 4 seasons as a member of the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan. RIP Brian.
