I love Anthropology, Physics, and Literature!
No video game or hollywood set piece will live as rent free in my mind as the mud void that the narrator crawls through in Samuel Beckett's book 'How It Is'. The Best/worst setting/non-setting ever.

The sensation of finally "getting" a really hard book/paper is so fascinating to me. Onlookers might not see any difference in how I talked about the relevant concepts before/after the "lightbulb" turning on, but holy moly, does the information sitting in the mind "feel" different.

Checking out the Expedition 33 dev's webpage ( www.sandfall.co/team), each employee's title/mini-bio includes their favorite games, and 3 of them listed Majora's Mask. I strongly approve haha.

Everytime i listen to "Carnival of the Animals: Aviary" by Camille Saint-Saëns, I picture a fluffy bird that looks like this haha.

I haven't played clarinet regularly in 10 years, but every time I hear one, my fingers follow along with the notes I hear. I can still feel the key presses. Crazy how playing an instrument rewires the brain.

As a person who gets migraines, every time I hear a woodpecker, I reflexively/irrationally feel bad for them and think about all the headaches all that drumming on trees would create, haha.

Its little things like this that hit me hardest, for some reason. The everyday, mundane task of checking email. I feel so bad for our scientists.
I get really anxious every time I get an email from NSF. 😰

When I find a new song that I love, love, love - I immediately listen to it on repeat a thousand times, to the point I can't bear to hear it anymore haha.

When I'm jamming along to a song in the car, I love the facial expressions of other folks who happen to see me from their own cars; they always get so happy haha.

The driveway of the White House is now lined with mugshots….disgusting….this had to be a Stephen Miller idea

decision making has become about both physical proximity to the president at a given moment and the ability to do things in his name without him knowing - again, back to pre-modern court governance

Every time I read about a new, unwilling celebrity of our political moment, I think about how their life will never be the same again. Wishing Judge Dugan and her family the very best.

I've known Judge Dugan for a long time. We have overlapping social circles and she's come to Pi Day. Before she became a judge, she was a legal aid attorney and a referee for lawyer discipline cases. Absolutely, we butted heads on the latter.

This is pure unmitigated authoritarian bullshit.

Putin's willingness to negotiate and cooperate is an illusion. He does what he wants and is able to do.

The Kremlin always acts only in its own interests. It always deceives:
In speech, in writing, in all forms and options.
The Kremlin has no partners: only slaves or masters⤵️

Days that look sunny but are actually raining are so odd. Devil's rain. I'm not sure what emotional state I'm supposed to have.

Saw birds of every color of the rainbow on my daily run today. Nature is always so full of surprises.

Some of my favorite books are unfinished books - the castle, the last tycoon, etc. There is something so useful and insightful about reading something that is only partially complete
