As their mental illness progresses, their fight or flight state become permanent, not allowing them to think straight. They start to see danger from every corner, from every person.

Then they start to imagine things and this is when "I can't trust anyone, I must purge them all" happens.

Not the fear of death in this religious sense that they will be punished after, or that they won't live long enough.

This is much simpler, considering that they are simple, yet damaged beings - they fear revenge for all the evil that they have done. This is the root of this paranoid behavior.

All dictators enter this paranoia phase of their rule sooner or later. They know how much evil they've ordered to be done and this haunts them constantly. This is their guilty conscious trying to survive.

Next step are the mass purges in the police and the army, Stalin style.

Football hooligans are one branch of extremists that the Russians are funding. Same as in Serbia. Football stadiums and sport clubs basically become recruitment centers for crime and paramilitary forces.

Worst criminals in Serbia, mass murderers and drug dealers, came from these centers.
