I wrote a book about the problems with bottled water ("Bottled and Sold") several years ago. Here's just another reason to avoid it.

People Who Drink Bottled Water on a Daily Basis Ingest 90,000 More Microplastic Particles Each Year
Drinking water in plastic bottles contains countless particles too small to see. New research finds that people who drink water from them on a daily basis ingest far more microplastics than those who ...

People should embrace an abundance, post-scarcity mindset. We are on the cusp of having the tech to make it possible.

So much sociopolitical strife comes from competition over limited resources.

We short-circuit this by making enough that everyone can live well.

And it's not when the technology is confusing.

It's when it's clear... but they don't know why they should care.

I really don't think any of these radical left activists give two shits about anyone or anything, other than feeling superior, hiding their narcissism behind a cause and venting hate.

They're the left wing MAGA.
I really don’t think any of these guys really, truly comprehend what a breakdown of our climate will entail and how quaint and irrelevant it will make all the excuses they gave for not doing anything about it.
The article agitated against lng exports. But without them Europe would have been totally and royally fucked. You have no idea how close we came to a full collapse of our economy and a total win for Putin in Ukraine and after Eastern Europe.

Climate left would have lost its biggest global ally.

We are making so much progress in many areas of restoring rivers. Yes, there’s a lot left to do. Yes, there are massively degraded rivers all over the world. But, we’ve shown that massive progress is possible. Biodiversity is returning to modified systems because we understand the levers to pull.

yet again, carbon pricing (in the form of the EU CBAM) is proving to be a poison pill -- this time in the COP30 negotiations.

as I explain in Existential Politics, the politics of carbon pricing are generally terrible -- limited emissions reductions but a lot of pissed off people.

"The entire water crisis in the American West comes down to cows eating alfalfa in a landscape where neither belongs. The Colorado delta could be reborn with the water that today goes to produce a third of 1% of the nation’s cattle production".
