People generally understood that the main reason that Elon bought Twitter wasn’t to make a profit or any business reasons, but to neutralize a source of opposition. Those same people struggle with the idea of conservatives joining the Democratic Party for the exact same reason.

I love how many “democracy” proponents insist that we can only have two choices.
This is a time for Democrats to unify behind protecting democracy, which is a progressive, moderate, & conservative issue. Vigorous primaries are great, but once the Democratic nominees are chosen, it's a choice between Democrat & Republican. We have to pick the better candidate on the ballot.
