On this day in 1782, Superintendent of Finance Robert Morris addressed the US Congress to recommend establishment of a decimal coinage. Which kind of freaks me out, given that I was alive in 1971 when the UK finally got round to decimalisation.

The US was *way* ahead of the game, although the UK

The best suggestion I’ve seen is “ex-Cons”.

Brexit delivered what was promised on the ballot paper. The only question asked was whether the UK should remain in the EU or leave.

The lesson which emerges from the subsequent bin fire is be careful what you wish for & be even more careful about how you frame & decide important questions.

Not sure that “RefUK welcomes yet another dodgy Tory, more questions raised about Farage‘s offensive & racist past“ constitutes a “huge announcement”. Sounds like a typical day at RefUK to me.

How dare you question the judgement of somebody who claims Donald Trump is “gracious“? No wonder you never get invited to drinks parties on board oligarchs’ superyachts.

Any relation to Lord Ho Ho, who stages photo ops pretending he comes down the chimney at Christmas to deliver sacks of prezzies for the kids of various women he’s abandoned?

And why would he want a military budget increase anyway? By Farage’s own logic, the only thing we need to do to stay safe is to hide any sticks, so nobody’s tempted to poke the Russian bear.*

Simples.

*admittedly, Farage’s words were a bit much even for Charles Moore of the Telegraph.

Such attitudes predate the perceived option of replacing “unskilled” jobs with AI. Just think back to Nigel Farage reaching for “low-grade bank clerk” as the worst possible insult he could imagine or US Republicans trying to shame AOC as a former waitress. It’s really about hierarchy, not tech.

The South Park people don’t even have to crank out a new episode to satirise this dumb shit.

That silly little pin is just a reminder that they put the wrong sort of bobblehead into the White House.

Can we just swap him out with his plastic mini-me? Couldn’t be any worse than the full-sized version.

The only place for ironic quote marks when discussing this topic is around the words ‘Law Enforcement’ when used to describe ICE’s lawless thugs.

Rupert, you’re over-communicating . We’ve already got enough reasons to want to see the back of ex-Twitter. By this stage, you supporting it is more motivation than we need.

I suspect that shining a light onto Farage’s finances would be a career-ending move for anyone at the BBC under the current regime.

BBC management don’t just report on him because he’s a high-profile figure. They made him a high-profile figure. He’s their creature.

Vladimir Putin‘s had a roller coaster new year. First, he sees the guy he helped put in the White House decapitating one of his closest allies in Latin America. But just when it looks like his investment’s gone bad, Don comes up with the goods & is set to destroy NATO.

I guess Vlad’ll take the win

A lot of this nonsense is being whipped up on ex-Twitter, which makes it all the more infuriating that our govt is continuing to use this wildly unrepresentative algorithimically-skewed, bot-infested, child porn-peddling disinformation machine as a communication channel.

I see Julian Assange, the guy who was caught having a furtive meeting with Nigel Farage at the Ecuadorean embassy, is busy trying to whitewash Trump’s rep.

Assange’s claim that Trump “isn’t part of the global elite power structure” is particularly fatuous.

“…we put too much weight in the analysis of academics or elites, and not enough on you.”

Isaac Asimov anticipated your new editorial policy over 40 years ago with words that should become CBS’s strapline: “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge”.

When I was a kid in the 60s we had an electric heater with louvres. It always reminded me of a Dalek’s … er … neck.

Coming back to a cold house one Xmas, v. young me sat resting my back on one of those things & nearly set fire to myself. Mum had to patch the big scorch mark on the back of my coat…

First breaking news of 2026: there is an afterlife & it feels much the same as the before life. A whole lot of the other victims of the world government conspiracy are here with me.

For any sceptics who don’t believe in the pureblood thing, it must be true - a fake doctor told me.

narrative. Yes, the USSR played a huge role in the defeat of Nazi Germany, but also launched its own invasion of Poland attacked Finland & annexed the Baltic states during the Nazi-Soviet pact (1939-41).

I’d go on, but I’m sure you can generate simplistic BS faster than I can refute it, so goodbye.

As a straight man, I’m no expert, but if we’re non-sexist & basing *everyone’s* right to remain on their level of hotness, shouldn’t ICE be packing Elon onto the next deportation flight?

Or does a guy who looks like a miserable version of the Pillsbury dough boy do it for you, ladies & gay guys?
