Seth Rosenthal 9:53 AM craig hodges for his career shot a three point percentage of 0.39985795454 9:54 which is to say craig hodges might hate round numbers even more than alex 9:54 if he'd hit one more three-pointer in his career he'd be above 40 percent 9:54 and then there would be exactly 50 players in the 40 percent club alex rubenstein 10:22 AM one of these days, probably not in our lifetimes, society will focus on the point of all those anecdotes: to recognize the mere fact that there exists a number that someone reached which means X, Y, and Z, regardless of the level of roundness of that number (ie lets say an nba player had a certain number of career games scoring 30+ points, and that number of games wouldnt be a record, but if you change the threshold to 29 or 31, that unlocks a number of career such games that would be a record, who gives a rip? again, the point of the anecdote should be the acknowledgement that there simply exists a number that someone reached more than anyone or whatever, regardless of whether that number is 100 or 94.618 or 61.849)…or that someone has the most or fewest or 2nd-most or 2nd-fewest, etc. of something without feeling compelled to specifically tie it to a round number (ie if someone hits 71 dingers in mlb next season, it should obviously be framed as the 2nd-most anyone’s ever hit in a season as opposed to 1 of 3 players to hit 70+, which is obviously undermining the feat)
