Easily the weakest day of Trump 2.0.

He caved on misguided tariff war because the anonymous world of financial traders hated his policy.

Then tonight / less than 24 hours after DJT ordered House Rs to fall in line / Speaker Johnson admits Rs don’t have votes to pass budget outline.

Oof.

The AP chose not to pull a Paul Weiss. And it prevailed before the most conservative of Trump’s appointees to the district court in D.C.
I happen to know that some powerful media orgs were unhappy that AP filed suit; they thought the conflict with the White House would blow over on its own and that AP risked making bad law. The AP's leadership deserves a lot of credit for having proceeded as it did. apnews.com/article/trum...

Bombshell in North Carolina: the state's GOP-dominated Court of Appeals just sided with the GOP candidate in last year's supreme court race.

Their decision would toss roughly 60,000 ballots (!) that have been counted, & likely hand the election to GOP instead of incumbent Dem Justice who won it.

Much has been said about this post, but it's also interesting for non-obvious reasons.

His first person language — "my Starlink system" and "if I turned it off" — is extremely telling. We rarely see him speak so plainly about his unilateral power like this.

Dems likely would’ve won the House 218-217 if the GOP hadn’t gained 3 seats by re-gerrymandering North Carolina.

GOP gerrymandered 3x more districts than Dems did nationally.

GOP in Congress unanimously blocked efforts to end gerrymandering in 2019 & 2021. GOP Supreme Court justices did so in 2019
