I voted on The Transfeminine Review’s 2025 awards! If you’ve read anything new (Dec2024–Nov2025) by a trans woman or trans-feminine author, you should too!

In doing so, we hope to recognize not just the books with traditional industry legitimation, but the books which had the greatest impact across the board, no matter who wrote them or how they were published. To which I would add—I thought only books published in print form would qualify, but we all know that plenty of stuff is good, but never achieves popularity. Restricting the entry only to professionally published work would cut out 99% of the writing that’s out there.

Ellis wrote the first chapter and a significant portion of the second, before I suggested guiding the second chapter to a satisfactory conclusion as co-author.

Then we returned via #TownHall and #Parkville. So first up: Footscray Station watching the train come in; and two shots inside and outside Arden station in North Melbourne. Amazing.

All 17 endings are written! @ellis-ralsei.bsky.social made a beautiful cover!

An anthology of alternate universes with some characters from Alyson Greaves’ novel (kimmy), exploring various ‘what if’ scenarios. Each story uses a different chapter as a jumping-off point.

I might write a note for myself here, so I can keep track of all of the different endgames of each chapter involve. 1 Emily in Kimmy without voice inhibitor ✅ 2 Emily in Kimmy after broken arm; implied that she will have to obey Patrick’s neural suggestions later ❌ 4 Kimmy at 98%, John and Emily’s Halloween night complete success ✅ 5 Kimmy at 3%, John discovers neural probe effects too soon, Patrick kills John ❌ 9 iPad smashed after Emily and John get home, terrified John goes to hospital; charged with whatever statute applies to brain/neural sponge intermixing ❓ 15 Emily forces Patrick to get John out; Patrick tells his superiors who abduct John. He becomes a lab experiment at a black site, Emily#0001 ❌ 20 Patrick ‘Lecter’ Heiden accelerates John’s transformation into Kay. ❓ 26 John and Emily role play a hypothetical scenario so Emily can learn how dire John’s situation is; John is extracted but the Burroughs’ are ruined financially. ✅❓ 32 an astute officer responding to Kay’s screams realises John is trapped inside; NYPD and medical staff drop the ball; coroner’s report of John’s death lists the causes and contributing factors.❌ 48 Kay tells Emily a Cinderella story at the shore. The good sister caves in the ugly sister’s face with a baseball bat, after a good tasing. ✅ 71 Emily’s cousin flies in from Düsseldorf and liberates Kay ✅

I will be most disappointed if the Loch Ness Monster vibing sculpture in the middle of the Westgate doesn’t end up getting a goof looking head, or at least some giant googly eyes
A 10 storey support structure for the Westgate tunnel, sticking out from the middle of a 12+ lane freeway, which seems to be covered in triangular prism reptile skin belonging to some gigantic creature. The structure has a crane sticking out where the ‘neck’ would begin.

Kathy (my girlfriend in the first photo) had the reputation of cracking the eggs of her boyfriends — she had behind her a string of exes who now were all out as gay.

I on the other hand already knew I was bisexual, and had… gender issues. (Photo modified to protect identity of my then-flatmate.)

Huh. I don’t think I have a photo readily available for ‘Me at 21’, but I do have a photo of me at 20, and a photo of me at 22, and you can split the difference.

I rolled my own work skin for using a serif font as default and doing a few small bits of text customisation.

Indenting first words of paragraphs isn’t here or there for me, but I do want my words to look nice.

Screen shot of the top of the 64ordle screen; I get feature requests every so often, so was looking into the average number of words required to solve all 64 puzzles. Prior expectation is that this is around 40 words; today, the 38th word will allow the auto-completion feature to kick in, as after guess 37 all but one word are either solved (green indicators) or all five letters have been found in their correct locations on prior guesses (yellow indicators).

I’m just going to give you a photo of what I looked like in February 1992.

I had gender, and sexuality things going on, all the way back then.

(My face looks terrible because it was the first day I ventured out after being sick with flu for a week.)
