This thread is so interesting, and it just occurred to me that this probably proliferates here because you can’t well be a hostile troll directly. It suggests to me that the goal really is just to waste our time, to hope that we might take it personally when we see those posts.
this is kind of a niche issue but: if you are getting weird and hostile responses that feel a little off, there are some folks on here making accounts that automatically reply to large quantities of posts in a vaguely hostile manner. you can ignore them, and also, it's not personal

a major problem with bluesky is that i can offhandedly remark "i hate drawing, its too hard" and then a sweet old lady will gently encourage me and kindly point me to some useful resources to get started drawing and i dont know what to do with myself
