I've always worked really hard to protect myself and my family from COVID. I tried following public health recommendations for the first year, using cloth/surgical masks. We all caught COVID as a result.
Unfortunately, I've never recovered. Its been 5 long years.
I've learned a lot...

This!!!! I got covid for Christmas 2021 (despite only seeing 2 people during the holiday season), and ever since, I've had #LongCovid. It's 3 days from Christmas 2024, and it's still debilitating. I masked then and still do mask. Please - PLEASE - mask up when you're not feeling well!!
taliajane.bsky.social
please mask and wash your hands and test if you don’t feel well. so many people are getting sick and getting others sick. stay home if you’re sick. exposing countless workers to illness so you can get your holiday shopping done or whatever is gross.

Me too😓
Wishing you success re: symptom management🙏
One day we'll have COVID-trained GPs in Canada.
Hopefully, we're alive to benefit😔

I asked my GP for a CCTA or MRA referral. He said no and countered with Doppler ultrasound of neck and legs, so I took it. Any testing that can help show vascular health/damage is necessary when dealing with the aftermath of a COVID infection.

I'm healthy & was lucky to get stent inserted within the hour of onset, so no permanent damage (super lucky).

Be careful. I was there in Dec 2019 when this all started. Then tachycardia went silent. In Jan 2025, heart attack.
I now am extremely persistent in requesting Doppler ultrasounds (at least annually) to check for hidden vascular damage.
Unfortunately, am now on heart meds for life due to COVID😓

My doc prescribed 3000mg nattokinase to try to help in the short term.
Need to be super careful with bumps to avoid bad bruising associated with blood thinners.
Like I'm walking a tight-rope😔

I don't think the booster directly hurt me. My theory is that the booster initiated a possible autoimmune response which worsened pre-existing symptoms.
a-dobbie11.bsky.social
If I start moving my HR either stays low and doesn't respond to increased oxygen demand, or it spikes too quickly even if O2 demand isn't great.
This has been one of my disregulation Long COVID symptoms for the past 5 years.
Before my recent booster, the disregulation was under control...
a-dobbie11.bsky.social
Really odd is that now when upper body is under load (even 5lbs will do it), my HR spikes to 145bpm+
That is completely novel for me.
In the past, my hr used to spike when lower body was under load (even only 15lbs caused it).
HR is not responding to exercise at all again (faintness)...

Had Doppler ultrasound of legs done to rule out DVT, and no signs of blood clots (a good thing).
However, what is causing the d dimer and CRP spike🤔
Is it my Long COVID acting up or the vaccine itself...or both?
Regardless, I have to take it easy until systems normalize.

Been suffering from Long COVID symptoms for more than 5 years now. Received my updated Moderna COVID booster on Sept 28th (usual mild symptoms after shot). Did blood work 4 days after booster & D-dimer & C reactive protein are both elevated (d dimer is doubled my normal lvl).

It is a fantastic ride! I hope to do it again over the next few years🙌🚲

Focus is to protect everyone from airborne pathogens.
Everyone deserves better🙏
Everyone deserves clean air.

Hard to believe our little canary turns 15 today🥳
Canary turns 15🥳

I really needed to share this with someone. My family wouldn't understand and this would likely make them mad because they don't mask at school either.
Everyone has their limits I guess😓
I'll never understand why some don't try to protect their loved ones.

Visited the dentist today.
Hygienist always wears N95 yo avoid infection. She complained that her boyfriend also works at a school in Ontario (like me) but he never masks, so he always gets sick and brings it home.
I told her he should be masking to protect her.
She deserves better.😓

The idea that anyone has not had enough disease exposure after the debacle that has been “opening up” to the circulation of high levels of disease for at least three years for most countries… more if you count the countries that could or wouldn’t mitigate in 2020… is ludicrous. Not only that…

Oh my f***ing god! I can’t believe they’re still doing this completely made up “immunity debt” b*llsh*t! Can someone who’s smarter than me maybe a Dr or nurse and has many more followers than me please debunk this sh*t for the last time.
Kaiser warns of increased respiratory illness among young children as 'pandemic babies' enter kindergarten
Babies born during the initial years of the pandemic were exposed to fewer viruses than usual due to widespread masking; now, their immune systems are catching up.

📊 4 in 10 Scots with #LongCovid told us they can’t work at all.
Another 2 in 10 are forced to cut their hours.
Meanwhile, Scottish Government funding is just £9.70 per patient per year.
People are losing livelihoods while support lags behind.

Infographic titled The Financial Impact of Long Covid in Scotland. A pie chart shows that 4 out of 10 Scots with Long Covid (37.7%) are unable to work, while 21.3% work fewer hours. The text highlights that Scottish Government funding for Long Covid is only £9.70 per patient per year. It would be wonderful if the NDP & all Canadian teacher's unions would stop with the weaponized incompetence & act together to protect teachers and students in classrooms by ensuring everyone has clean, indoor air to breathe.
This will help everyone stay healthy.
Why wouldn't you fight for it🤔?

Even with clean indoor air, we still need smaller class sizes to help prevent close contact spread of airborne pathogens. Indoor air quality is excellent in my classroom, but due to high # of kids we still get some COVID spread between students.
N95 masking definitely helps (hard for kinders)

If I was teaching at that school, in that class, you would have it🙏
