Sadly suppressing such a devastating report doesn’t make the risks go away - it just makes them even harder to deal with. Facing up to the truth is the first step to coping with it - it’s beyond scandalous that ministers tried to prevent this. They need to act - and fast

There's a kind of loneliness that's not about access to social events. It's deeper, more about our inner worlds. It's about a disconnection to self, being a persona, being something you're not. So much drives this disconnection.

It's precious to find relationships where you can be your real self.

The increasingly uncommon toad - whose numbers have almost halved since 1985 - is one of my favourite creatures. One once sat on our doorstep every time it rained.

Their decline is awful, but the existence of 100s of Toad Patrols is the most British thing ever:

Since 1985, the country’s toad population has almost halved, with hundreds of thousands killed on the roads each year. But many people are determined to protect them – including 274 dedicated patrol g...

I haven‘t read The Hobbit.
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?
