Anyone else still have a bookshelf for games? Or have you all gone digital?

A shovel salesman argues that every person needs a shovel, as it's essential for survival. He questions how one could exist without one and suggests that those without a shovel will fall behind. He advocates for Universal Basic Shovels for everyone in the future.

In most modern video games, no matter how cool your character looks, the player is actually just controlling a capsule.

Blue prince is a fantastic game, but the safe puzzles were definitely not designed to be enjoyed but rather inflicted into the player's minds.

Fun game dev fact:
If you're holding a map of a place while standing in that place, there's always at least one point on the map that aligns perfectly with its real-world location.

This is why mini maps work.

Game designers, learn to adjectify, verbify, and nounify.

Your untargetable, dash-charging goblobs will be a lot easier to talk about.

Can someone explain the profability of the streaming model?
You have X users that can go up or down monthly.
A new series costs Y.
Y cost can only be justified if X goes up enough because of the series and stays up long enough for delta X * subcost > Y.
Am I missing something?

fun fact: if you draw fanart for a game within the first week of any sort of major PR event for it (announcement, demo, release etc) there is a 99% chance the entire dev team on the game knows who you are because they are doing nothing but reposting fanart in slack

I still can't believe that Grammerly can legally sell thier Gen AI tools to students, while simultaneously selling tools to teachers to detect use of Gen AI in thier students assignments.

ChatGPT can you define Conflict of Interest?

How? Like seriously. Where did that money go?
Facebook bought oculus over a decade ago for 2 billion , and changed it's name to Meta only 4 years ago.
They aren't throwing money at various studios to build VR experiences. Where is this money going??
Meta has spent over $100 billion on VR.

It's now extremely common to see bots comment on social media posts. Short form content is thier favourite as all they have to do is repeat the last line and put a laughing emoji and they will get a ton of engagement from real people.

Severance is a masterclass of mise en scene. They know how to tell a story by just framing a shot.

The worst position to be in when buying a gift is knowing them well enough to get them something they would love and want, but not knowing them well enough to know if they already have it.

LMAO, Grammerly sells students AI generated text tools to complete and correct their assignments and sells educators tools to auto correct and detect AI in assignments.
What a horrible way to play both sides.

I've been trying to track down a ms dos game whose name I don't know but only what it looked like.
It's been a nightmare

This is nuts!
The game is a gem.
Rollerdrome - my GOTY 2022 - and OlliOlli World have been delisted from Steam, following the studio Roll7's closure by Private Division last year.

Customize your warrior's fur length and pattern - and choose between three different weapon sets at start of game.
