They’re absolutely willing to go that far. He and Miller especially would enjoy it. (Vance hasn’t publicly been quite as performatively evil and cruel.) The stopping point is that they don’t have the resources to do it. But they’re stupid and constantly reject reality, so they will try.

Oh, the regime isn’t going to start there. He believes much less than that are actually against him in meaningful ways, and that most of them will be cowed with sufficient violence. The violence will be ramped up until something breaks.

(There is indeed no feasible path to cancelling elections.)

Kill everyone who disagrees is in fact a win condition. It’s a horrific win condition that he cannot achieve. But it is what he will try and what we need to be ready to respond to.
