Having been at a dozen startups, some successful and many not, I can assure you this does not mean 996. You can’t exert more effort than a better funded company, 996 means you don’t understand what your leverage is.

Job postings on HN are trending ever so slightly upwards. I point out both of these because they are lagging markers of the software job market, you don’t pay a recruiter or deal with the hassle of HN if you are getting candidates through your network.
