A summary of the state in funding of academic research in Canada. And unfortunately, the future looks blue.
Opinion: Why is Canada so miserly in funding academic research?
Ambitious investment in our research ecosystem cannot wait any longer – our peers are already committing to bold increases in research funding

Today I remember those that were murdered for no other reason than being women that studied engineering at École Polytechnic in 1989. I use this photo to remind that behind each name is a story of an individual taken from us too early.

It’s that time of year where they get you with the free sample, and then you are hooked.

Two 1-hour virtual talks on low vision over two days + full week of meetings = me exhausted. One good thing about virtual conferences is not having to fly back on a Sunday, and work the next day.

Contrary to what everyone thinks - I’m still taking care of all of the parts of my previous associate Dean role. It’s just now I also have the associate Dean of research role. It makes sense in that many of the issues in research involve space and equipment. It does mean my calendar is interesting.

Nice exhibit at the Montreal Planetarium highlighting women in math and physics. There are multiple boards like this to the right of the entrance, and free to view (only have to pay to see the planetarium experience).
