Reading Barbara and Karen Fields’s RACECRAFT—it’s not only one of the best books I’ve read on racial ideology but also one of the best on ideology in general. If I was ever teaching a grad seminar, I’d assign this instead of Althusser.

UK privatises water, lets financiers turn it into an asset class, extract billions, pollute our rivers and now Labour government
may let them pollute for another 15 (!!!) years instead of nationalising Thames Water?

incredible.

Tony Blair is working hand-in-glove with Larry Ellison to secure lucrative government contracts for Oracle and hand them the keys to the NHS’s vast store of health data.

Ezra Klein is so emblematic of a certain kind of man in media.

Incurious while thinking he's open-minded, condescending while ignorant of his of ignorance.

It's an intellectual exercise for him, as if that's a marker of his journalistic professionalism rather than an expression of his privilege.

The term “antifa” does reflect an actually existing world of activists, researchers, thinkers, and organizers at real risk of persecution. Denying their existence will only do further harm.

What Liberals Get Wrong About Trump’s Executive Order on Antifa
Liberals dismiss antifa as just an idea. That opens up the activists, researchers, and organizers to a real risk of persecution.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

We're weeks away from millions of Americans facing an economic cataclysm created entirely by Trump and Republican lawmakers' refusal to simply renew existing health care tax credits - and the devastation will be particularly acute in Republican states.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

RIP to Bluestockings the radical bookstore, volunteer-supported cafe, activist meeting ground, and community resource center that gave out Narcan kits. NYC will be a poorer place without it

LES bookstore Bluestockings, which served Narcan and radical reads, shutting down
The owners say mounting financial troubles and a lack of consensus on next steps prompted the closure.

Not a great moment in American politics when the two poles are “je suis Charlie Kirk” and “je suis Jimmy Kimmel”

Charlie Kirk called me a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘prostitute’ and demanded I be deported.

Nothing, *nothing*, justifies killing him, or robbing his kids of their dad.

We don’t know the identity or motive of the shooter but murder can *never* be the response to political disagreements.

Stay tuned for more career-ending Mamdani scandals to be dramatically uncovered by the NYT:

- didn’t signal before switching lanes on driving test
- burped on first date
- put mayo on fries
- snuck into an R-rated movie
