Fair scunnered, most of the time.
I like interesting people, learning new stuff and polite discourse - but if you’re after my money or my body, probably best you don’t bother following me as I have none of the former and the second is knackered.

Am struck by parallels between people’s behaviour around the 17th/18th C witch trials, and current levels of blame, hatred and lack of judicial process.
People are being manipulated now, just as they ever were, and innocent people continue to suffer.

Local election here today
Dragged myself out to support our Lib Dems, who do a great job at local level.
Am feeling sh*t & ordinarily I’d have been confident my vote wasn’t needed but one of those FlagSha**ers was also standing.
Am wondering if the Tory 3rd candidate will split some of the vote.

One can get Hot X Buns and strawberries all year round, and Xmas starts in July, but those precious few weeks of the greengage season are something I look forward to every year.
I like seasonality, dammit.
Anyone else have them stewed, on top of tapioca or sago for school lunch?
Prefer them fresh!

Petition: Ensure plurality of political coverage across UK broadcast media at all times
We want to ensure that a plurality of views from all political parties in Westminster are represented and the nations parliaments are heard all year round, not just election times. The rules for coverage during elections should apply at all times.

I’ve never in my life been described as soignée
Today’s very welcome rain has rendered me even less so
My hair has frizzed itself to the point where it now resembles a dandelion clock which has stuck its finger in an electric socket
The only nice thing about this is it reminds me of my Grandma

Someone so extremely fed up of seeing/hearing Farage everywhere that he’s seriously considering moving to Clacton so he never has to see the f****r ever again.
Fair point, well made.

Just had our buildings and contents insurance renewal quote.
The premium has gone up by 24%.
They blame it on increases in costs of building materials & manpower - though the projected cost of rebuilding has only gone up by 4%.
We haven’t made a claim in 25 yrs
Time to look elsewhere.

Finally had the energy to tackle sundry annoying wee jobs, each of which required far more effort than end results showed.
Broken curtain hooks replaced.
Many, many things put away properly.
Cushioning tape replaced down side of wardrobe door.
I tell you, it doesn’t get more exciting than this!

I’m used to using DPNs to knit top-down socks but this is my first try at using Addi CrasyTrio flexible DPNs.
I like.
Stitches split across 2 needles, using the third to knit onto etc.
Pattern is by Winwick Mum, yarn is Opal Black Dragon 4 ply

The weather has cooled considerably and, despite one finger being a wee b*st*rd, I am having the loveliest day playing with fabrics, sitting at the sewing machine with all the doors and windows open.

It was a tad warm here yesterday, especially in my car.
Cooled down to a mere 33° after a couple of miles, thank goodness.
Feels just as hot today but I don’t have to go out.
It’s over 27° indoors but the fan does help. A bit.

My blissful day has been somewhat marred by trying to sort out my husband’s new phone and all associated apps and accounts from his old one. He’s opted not to keep the old no, for reasons, and it’s been a ruddy nightmare.

V pleased Govt is rethinking Winter Fuel Payment eligibility!
An easy delineation would be just don’t give it to households where 40% tax bracket applies to someone.
And - levy prescription charges there too!
