The more realistic AI created videos become, the more dangerous they are. We already know bad actors like Fascists & scammers lie systematically to sell their poison. Now, they'll be more able to get away with it.

And real videos will be distrusted as a result.

At the most generous interpretation of this controversy, it demonstrates that US Right wingers suffer from severe confirmation bias.

I'm confident, though, that quite a bit of the Right wing outrage came from big accounts acting in bad faith.

It’s true that sometimes the law holds back Trump and affords us some semblance of safety.

But the more we lean into the law as our shield, the more powerful it will become as a sword when Trump changes it in his favor and wields it against us.

Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us.
