So while the per-student rate of funding is already brutally low, we also compound this issue through a fractured, non-cooperative mish-mash all for the illusion of "choice" and the ever-present ideological pressure of privatisation.

And we are one of only five provinces to publicy fund Private schools - but of course we fund at the highest level in Canada (70% - almost 50% higher than any other province).

We are one of only three provinces that operate & fully fund non-cooperative Separate Catholic schools (where we lose $275,000,000 education dollars a year through inefficiencies just to specially favour one religion over all others).

Alberta dilutes funding even further through inefficiences & the illusion of choice and for-profit. We are the ONLY province that operates exclusive publicly funded Charter Schools - where if you are connected to the government you can get over $100,000,000 public tax dollars for your school...
