This is, I think, the first time I've seen an elected official directly discuss the need for a General Strike since the election. I personally consider this an important first step: www.reddit.com/r/massachuse...
From the massachusetts community on Reddit: Last night at a Town Hall in Greenfield MA, Rep. Jim McGovern called for a General Strike (public, private, everyone). Esp. now that court orders are being ...

"Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empires’s authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.

Remember this: Try." -Nemik's Manifesto of Rebellion

"And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear."

"There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward."

"There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.

Remember this, Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. "

After the CR vote, I felt exhausted, demoralized. But, it's a new week. Take a deep breath, dust yourself off, and keep fighting. This is going to be a marathon, not a sprint.

Overall impression of the @wyden.senate.gov and @repbynum.bsky.social town hall. This is a Blue district with Blue electeds: people are angry. Real angry. I honestly think that's a good thing. We need to get angry. We need to use our anger to stop this coup because no one but us can do it.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Here's the list of who needs to be primaried. They betrayed the American people. They are complicit in handing the power of Congress + a giant slush fund over to an unelected ketamine addict. That have betrayed the working class and thrown away the only leverage Dems had in Congress. For what?

i honestly have never seen a political leader so thoroughly destroy their credibility so quickly and, on the other side, it is abundantly clear that if anyone can claim a genuine leadership of large parts of the democratic party, it is AOC.
Folks is it good when your own party's leadership in the House is dropping "listen to the women" and MLK quotes on you while swing state members of your caucus are talking about new leadership

Thank you Senator. As a constituent: no cloture, no dirty CR, and it looks like you all need new leadership.

A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill.

Do not let anyone play games with you.
