As of right now, we have public sources that show at least 2,333,343 people protested across the country yesterday.
If the averages hold, that will total 5,540,343 which would be the national record of the largest protester turn out in one day!

I’m severely disabled. Today, I participated by wearing yellow in public. The No Kings coalition chose the color not me. Wearing coordinated colors is a type of action the Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) includes in their dataset. For most people the closest public space is just off their property

While much of the mainland is still gearing up for No Kings Day, Guam has kicked off the first protest of the day; hours ahead of the rest of us, where it’s already Saturday morning!

I wish the No Kings coalition would have welcomed the We Count Project to the organizing table because they’re dropping the ball in crowd counting preparation & giving incorrect information about largest protest days. Why demonstrations matter:loyalty shifts, policy changes, election results! Plant those seeds, drive onto those on-ramps, open those gates! The only thing more dangerous than overestimating the power of protest is underestimating it. Trump’s pushback proves these protests are working #50501 #NoKings

Not everyone can travel to protest locations & that’s okay. Barriers like caregiving, disability, trauma, safety, or lack of transit keep many away. But people still want to be counted. And they can be anonymously counted for doing dispersed collective actions (public coordinated acts of solidarity)
