In general, everything is pretty bad, which is why it's very important for dudes like Donny Benét to stick around and continue to bless us with bass and leather

No matter how hard people try to convince us having empathy is wrong,

it is right.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

it is a strength.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

it is unlimited.

In a studio in the valley in the 90s we would watch public access shows and one was Mr Morrison. It completely melted my mind. In pretty quick order I saw that show and discovered the electric blue suit in a thrift store, which was why there was ever a thing called Digital Unicorn

One of my favorite things in college was walking out of class, hearing music and thinking something like "why is there a toad the wet sprocket cover band playing?" and then it would turn out to be actual toad the wet sprocket

The fact that those nostalgia AI slop videos are 1:05 and the AI music track only 1:00, leaving 5 seconds of the most unsettling, soul crushing background silence... too much, man

I've been looking into a buying a convertible. Pretty sure that is the solution to any problem and not a symptom of something really bad.

I am issuing an (un)official "cool cloud watching day" advisory for much of central & southern California, including the SF Bay Area by this evening. With mid-level instability, deep tropical moisture, a hot airmass, and offshore low pressure system all in place--things might get interesting. #CAwx
I'll have a livestream on Tue, Sep 23 @ 5pm PT to discuss the latest burst of unusual humid September heat--and potential for another (also quite unusual) widespread thunderstorm outbreak along the Central Coast. Expect a live radar & satellite tour! #CAwx

Weird for me to see "not a kids' movie" when I and so many other 9-10 year old kids I knew watched this when it came out on video. I loved it and somehow felt like the target audience. It was a little heavy, but formative. Like when I watched Twin Peaks age 13-14
“The Natural” is not a kids' movie, not like “Little Big League” or “The Sandlot.”

But fairy tales are timeless. Just ask former big leaguers.

We really need a better, way more pejorative word that we can call these companies instead of “private equity”
There isn't a bigger anti-establishment, fuck-the-man pursuit than skateboarding. Yet even that industry has succumbed to private equity, destroying leading brands and the relationships that kept the scene thriving, cool, and local. I look at a new report on this cursed financialization:
Private Equity Ripped the Heart Out of Skateboarding
Multiple buyouts and bankruptcies have ruined iconic brands and hollowed out skateboarding culture. It’s our financialized economy in miniature.
