Hard to say, I can see it mattering up to 2029 (how well can Farage hold the line against Tommy Robinson types, especially if their lead starts to drop) but if they win then suddenly all that matters is that the other Reform MPs will be MPs like any other and have the powers that come with it

This is always the paradox of my party conference trips (and maybe it just reflects the events I go to) but at both Lab and Con I see MPs who care about issues talking in detail about it and engaging in good faith. But then the whole governance of a country has to be squashed into a Laura K segment

A repeated feedback we get on the podcast is ‘wow, you guys have actually read the plans/document/whatever’ and we’re like, sure, a bit, between having day jobs and freelance careers, but honestly it’s more of a testament to the fact that most political journalists seem to read nothing ever.

Yea speaking as person who does polling: the Lib Dems should absolutely ignore this. Hard to think of a question with more social desirability bias than "should the leader spend more or less time bungee jumping"

The annoying thing here is that the Lib Dems talk policy quite a lot and get ignored by the media, which is what Davey's stunts were a response to in the first place. I don't think he's addicted to stunts. I'm sure he'd love it if his policies got covered
