Mercenaries from Vae Victis miniatures. I painted these to play Sword Weirdos, which provides an example doppelsöldner warband. Sword Weirdos is wonderful, and I had a great time. They have also served as heroes in Deth Wizards and may end up being pressed into service for Mordheim.

Bases: Stylisation vs realism.
Warham minis are heavily stylized. Weird proportions, oversized weapons etc.
Yet we often strive to make bases look real, a strange disconnect. I prefer the thematically stylized sculpts. It's why I made comic bases for borderlands & cell for anime.

This one was constructed using the kit parts, with Hauler details, my own stowage and final details from Tamiya's collection of accessories. The markings are entirely fictional.
