Received the cover design for my new book ‘On the Future of Species’ which is about the convergence of AI-informed genome design and genome synthesis. It will be published by Bloomsbury in the UK on 12 February 2026 and by the MIT Press in the U.S. a few months later.

We have neglected our ‘artificial children’ De Kai states in his excellent new book Raising AI. Like errant children, AIs need to be provided with a moral compass and will need to be made mindful if we wish them to embody Enlightenment values. My review of his book is published today in Science.
