One month in Switzerland and bilingualism really does feel like

Built in the 13th century. So that mosque stood for 800 years with every sort of person from every place and every religion in the world passing through Gaza century after century, only for it to be blown up by some shithead loser sitting behind a computer that we probably paid for.

Y todos los países que quedan por pronunciarse aún, que queda mucha pretemporada. En la lista veo a Portugal, Finlandia y Noruega.

If they are so long-running, why withdraw now then? Again, Ireland had plenty of years for this.

Iceland and Slovenia have also announced their withdrawals, by the way. Long-running issues there as well?

There has been no unconditional confirmation from the broadcaster, so I don't think they have made up their minds about it.

Liam, Israel has participated uninterruptedly between 2000 and 2023. Ireland had plenty of chances to withdraw within that period claiming poor results.

In 2024, Ireland hit 6th place with a major success. Their recent track record is pretty favourable, yet they will still withdraw and we know why.

¡Y Bélgica! El seguro es bastante más barato, pero siempre con copago. No sé qué tipo de Estado del bienestar ejemplar pretenden vendernos cuando te mandan a casa con un ibuprofeno y además te cobran.

Spain's withdrawal from #Eurovision would be a massive blow to the contest. Not only due to the massive crowds of Spaniards gathering in front of the TV every year, but also because Eurovision would be losing one of its Big 5 contestants—with all the financial/sponsorship havoc this would entail.

So that's Ireland, Slovenia and Iceland that will officially pull out of #Eurovision 2026 if Israel takes part.

Go on, Spain, you're up next.

Llegar a Suiza hace una semana y enterarme de que aquí contratar seguro médico es obligatorio, tengas o no trabajo. Ya conozco gente con +20000 de deuda por no poder pagarlo. Demencial.

- you clean up that banksy?
- sure did, your honour, leaving a perfect, permanent outline, imbuing the work with real fuckin gravitas while making its point better than the artist did himself just like you asked

They erased the new Banksy mural in London. But the stain remains.
Side-by-side images of Banksy’s mural on the Royal Courts of Justice in London. On the left, the artwork appears faded and scrubbed, leaving only a ghostly outline of a judge raising a gavel over a protester holding a placard. On the right, the mural is fully visible in sharp black and white stencil, showing a judge in a traditional white wig and robes striking down at a protester who defends himself with a bloodied sign.

Rewatching old Eurovision shows (from not even 5 years ago) feels almost dystopian in 2025.

Like, what do you mean Russia, Belarus, Turkey and Hungary used to participate?!

Let's not forget that the EPP cannot even take pride in having expelled Fidesz: Orbán quit the group before that!
aestesop.bsky.social
This potential move from the EPP is so long overdue that I cannot take it seriously. And even more ridiculous when you read the alleged reasons prompting Weber's plans.

Also, Euractiv's calling Vučić Serbia's PM is not even that far off. Who even knows who Serbia's actual PM is?

The prime minister's threats to MEPs is proving too much for their European party colleagues to stomach

🇷🇸La crisis política y social en Serbia se agudiza con el paso de las semanas. El gobierno del presidente Vucic responde con dureza a los críticos y agita el fantasma de una presunta injerencia extranjera.

What Gresa is saying here is spot on.

Being a victim of the system while unleashing your racism against Albanians or chanting "Kosovo je Srbija" is outright self-sabotaging. This narrative is so deeply rooted in Serbian society that it will take more than Vučić's/SNS's demise to change it.
gresahasa.bsky.social
It is not only absurd but also sad to witness how some protesters in #Serbia resort to “šiptari,” the ethnic slur for #Albanians, as an insult against Serbian gendarmerie or Vučić’s hooligans.
