Thinking again about how much I love this concept art of Lt. Miller from Mirror’s Edge.
Concept art for the character of Lt. Miller from the game Mirrors Edge. Miller stands in front of an abstract green background, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt and sternly staring into the camera. He is dressed entirely in a white, a near perfect match for his short, slicked hair. He is wearing a three-piece suit with the jacket removed. His tie is tucked neatly into a tight vest, prominently displaying a police badge - the only pop of color in his ensemble. The outfit notably highlights his wristwatch, and a shoulder-holster, both black.

No game will ever top Gridz in my book.
An animated image of the main menu from the game “Gridz”. The interface is composed of what can only be described as “gizmos”. A large blue orb labeled “play” is decorated with four conic springs. The first three are labeled “new game”, “saved game”, and “custom level”. The fourth is connected to a blue and yellow pipe which leads to the bottom left of the screen. At the end of the pipe, some sort of red disk is repeatedly extruding yellow cylinders, like some sort of pasta machine or nuclear reactor. Another yellow pipe curves around the top right of the screen, reaching from the bottom right corner to the top left. It connects to an oscillating gyroscope labeled “quit”, while the top left end coils around a floating red exclamation mark labeled “help” before continuing to a bright red and blue flywheel labeled “options”. The entire thing is a constantly moving, cacophony of bright, primary colors, like something from a Dr. Seuss story.

One of my favorite little oddities of live service games is seeing old stuff intermixed with new stuff.

One of these icons was made for the 6th character in the game.

The other was made for the 49th.

The icon on the right is labeled “sentient wrath”, and appears to be some sort of eldritch horror. It is significantly more complex and visually busy than the simple diamond shape. Three circles appear to be exploding from a set of waves, with three columns or beams flowing like water from the top, and either side.
