It’s also a super classic look, again alluding to him being one of the few men in The City who seems to actually still have integrity while clinging to the past. The sleeve garters are a nice touch. He’s an old-school cop and he’s going to get his hands dirty.

Ugh, I just love it.

The outfit directly highlights three things. A wristwatch, a police badge, and his holsters. This is all characterization 101. He’s punctual, no stranger to a conflict, and proudly displays his badge in a world where (actual) cops are a dying breed.

Not to go all “menswear guy”, but it’s such a striking costume. He has minimal screen-time in the game itself, but his outfit tells you EXACTLY who this man is.

A crisp white suit - he’s fastidious, perhaps dangerously so. He’s not wearing a jacket, and you get the sense it’s for practical reasons.

I always liked how the Mass Effect games differentiated between “Artificial Intelligence” and “Virtual Intelligence”.

A VI doesn’t think or reason, it just goes through the motions of seeming vaguely capable.

Fun fact, Alka-Seltzer (like the fizzy heartburn medicine) produces sodium citrate when it dissolves. You can throw a tablet in water and use that as a base for cheese sauce if you’re insane.

The sniper doesn’t just fuck off, he magically turns from an enemy to an ally.

Maybe he was just angry because it was so cold with both air conditioners running.

Also amusing to note that _nothing happens_ in this “game”.

There are no enemies. There are no obstacles. Just running around and shooting, because those are the motions to go through when playing army.

There’s a metaphor in there somewhere…

The real question:

Do you own Shrek on GameBoy Advance Video?

Don’t forget to rake in ad revenue by posting engagement bait of obviously wrong info!

“This fish is 100% transparent”

Fair enough! And good point about overall visibility. I misunderstood the problem you were trying to solve!

Can you make it so the mouse cursor pushes clouds out of the way?

It’s very “visible” in a way that might not mesh with the tone of every game, but it would be an amusing little toy that solves the problem!

I think it’s also important to give kudos as a brilliant counter to ICE propaganda as well.

No amount of editing will make you look bad-ass and cool while selling the narrative that Portland is a fiery hellscape if all the footage is you beating up a silly dancing frog.

I love the grass! The one or two voxel offset gives it a lot of texture and depth!

This is a niche one, but “Emily is Away” hit me _hard_.

In high school, I had a good friend / crush named Emily, and we spent a lot of time talking on AIM. While the game was basically cold-reading the late-2000’s high school experience, it felt very personal. Took a while to get it out of my head.

*sigh* maybe robotnik was capturing all those wild animals for a reason, Sonic.

At the same time, I’m glad we have what we do. Players loved the game. Many made friends playing Spellbreak, and we were able to bring joy to a lot of people in hard times.

The fact that those same people can still go back and revisit it our little game, even an incomplete version, is worth it.

I’m not entirely happy with the compromises we had to make. A ton of work went into live-service elements, like the story chapters, which didn’t make the cut. It’s not fair that the work of the combat team lives on, but that of the narrative team is lost.
