I will say it took a lot of work and a lot of dumb luck to break us that badly. It's not inherent to America to fuck up that badly: as designed, we're more resilient. It was warfare and it persists: has to, because we'll bounce back. We won't become immune to toxicity: never were.

Sure, that's how it works. I could say 'that's all it is' because once you go 'oh, basically I'm a cat inside' there isn't automatically a 'AND THEN WHAT?', might be nothing. If you're like 'well clearly raccoon!' it's fine to leave it at that. It's fun. Sorta 'well that tracks'.

This is so relatable. I never figured it out and have to make do with 'well, I can do some nice stuff'. So to the extent that I can handle it, I try to shut up, never speak to anybody, and make nice stuff. When I can't handle it, I try to engage and I make messes. Feel like I'm learning this wrong.
