I went from reading less than 10 books a year before TikTok to reading 100-200 books yearly because of TikTok. This pretentious moral high ground of getting off social media and reading more is bullshit

Just a reminder of some of the context around the TikTok ban: In 2020, Trump tried to ban it via executive order a couple months after K-pop fans used it to organize fake signups to Trump’s Tulsa rally, which led him to publicly overestimate how large the crowd size would be.

Every now and then, I get reminded why I love internet communities so much. American Tiktok users are joining Rednote in large numbers as a big FU to the Tiktok ban. The government wants to ban the app due to alleged security issues coming from China? We'll find another Chinese app just because.
