Was struck by a whim to do a couple quick updated sketches on how I generally imagine hexapodal skeletons whenever drawing dragons. Then I became distracted by summer and gardening and also perfectionism kicked in and they ended up being not so quick...

After ridding the Lands of increasingly larger Monsters that took known people of the city, later also his friends, away.

Greatest heroic deed was to find the source of it and eventually slayed some large winged beast he never thought was doable

Fateful blow was that it turned back into a friend.

Northern Gannet incoming!
I went with black and white here as i though the color did not really add anything. The background was red stone which distracted from the black-n-white bird :)

My first thought: "Why would a dragon boulder if they can just fly up"
Second Thought: "I think it can look really cool when they hang there with the wings hanging down, great picture from far"

I really like that they replaced "Stick & Stones" in the new HTTYD Soundtrack with something more fitting. The "You Are my Homeward" is a lot better.

The stilt (Himantopus himantopus) is a small wader with extremely long red legs and a slender body. People must also have been impressed, because why else would they have named it after stilts?
