Resurfacing old terrain.
Doesn't match with the bright green grass but then again my poly hexes are patchwork at best.
I'm not brave enough to glue on tufts as the tiles usually stack so they'd get wrecked, though I could glue a bunch of tufts into the river/gulleys.

we spent a lot of the battle shooting across the ruins at each other until my opponent rushed down one side and over the raised platform to establish control of the exploratory dig.

Time for some tank racing, drawing cards for 10-18 inches and rolling dice on sharp corners for slides and collisions to see if there's any damage (or the loss of a turn).
