If you are a company who is worried about a big boycott from a religious group just remember that because they are people they are mostly hypocrites and you don’t have to actually do what they say. They will still patronize your business!

First junior high pep rally in 20 years today and it opened with "let's get hyped up guys! Yeah! Okay time for the pledge of allegiance!"

That's one way to get them on their feet.

"if you would have told me that..." seems to be the phrase of choice this year for WG season wrap up posts. I personally find it to be an improvement from "my heart is so full" of a few years back.

One of the biggest predictors of a team's success is probably whether the directors have been able to create a cult of personality.

I get why people say "good skill" instead of "good luck" at shows, but it gives the same vibes as saying "angel eggs" instead of "deviled eggs" to not piss off God.

My most "corporate America" trait is saying "no worries!" when there are many worries.

Work from home gives me the flexibility to openly sob during a work meeting without anyone knowing. What a perk!

When Musk denies that he did a big ol Nazi salute during the inauguration, remember this, from Jean-Paul Sartre, 1944.

It’s notable that the double Nazi salute is not only clear, it’s also perfectly in line with Elon Musk and Trump’s ideology of white genocide, great replacement theory, and the cult of reproduction.

And Nazis are very much feeling empowered to be visible today.

Oh and the “Resistance” we’re going to see from liberals in the coming years will get them kylled because the civil rights movement that it is modeled after, as it is taught to all Americans, is a sanitized version of what people were really doing to resist.

Have we done the research yet to figure out if the same people vehemently against non-binary pronouns are the same ones who had issues using the correct "their" and "they're" during the pre-autocorrect era of the internet?

Galen Buckwalter, 68, shared with me his harrowing tale of being forced to flee the Eaton fire alone on his wheelchair through dark streets and fierce winds, dodging debris as fire neared his home.

Fleeing the LA fires alone on a wheelchair: ‘I had to take my chances’
An evacuation order when the Eaton fire threatened Galen Buckwalter’s Sierra Madre home triggered a nightmare odyssey through chaotic streets

Watching Christmas movies and ranking which children have the most intolerable voices.

Charlie from The Santa Clause is a good balance of squeaky but still cute.

The brother crying about not being able to put his arms down in A Christmas Story is my nemesis.

One of my biggest regrets of my "young professional" life was being made to live in a hotel across the street from the Glendale Americana for 3 weeks and never getting Din Tai Fung. I did, however, eat a lot of Porto's.

I know I am getting old because I am taken aback when youths say the phrase "raw dog" in everyday conversation with teachers or little kids to just mean "without preparing."
