Banning protests against genocide and climate change is the core foundation of the Labor Party in 2024.
Australian governments - especially those run by Labor - have used disgust at Israel conducting genocide as a cover to introduce laws to restrict protest that will be used almost totally against minorities and very much anyone protesting climate change.

Always remember that when you hear mining-friendly journalists (and talking heads) talk up the size of the mining industry, they're just talking about profits, and they sure as hell will never argue they should be taxed fairly.
