I'm still writing 2024 on all my jokes about writing years on checks.

When I was little I really loved Star Wars, but thought Star Trek was dumb and boring. Now that I'm older and wiser and the series have each evolved, I know that they're both bad.

Apparently if you're getting net::ERR_FAILED for HTTP requests in some clients, this can be caused by your known good OCSP stapling configuration in Apache httpd which you've successfully used for years. But last time I tried to figure this out, turning off stapling mysteriously didn't fix it.

How do I know I'm not you? I've never seen myself in the same room at the same time with you.

After about 4 months, GitHub finally fixed their referrer tracking, which I assume they broke because of their ridiculous Azure migration. Unfortunately, the referrer URL paths have gone from mostly unavailable to totally unavailable.

I'm planning a RAM heist, and I could use someone with your skills.

When speaking to people you know in real life, consider addressing them not by their names but with titles, like an RPG NPC who can't voice act a player-supplied character name. For example: Wanderer, Seeker, Traveler, Hunter, Champion, Captain, or Commander.

I seem to have replaced an ISP's shitty router with a great off-the-shelf alternative even though the ISP said it was impossible. Static IP address, incoming connections, hairpinning, and IPv6 all work. The shitty modem doesn't have IP Passthrough, but MAC address cloning avoided double NAT instead.

The phenomenon of waiting for a repeating timer to next elapse, such as "global cycles" in speedruns, is often described using the bus analogy. However, that's inaccurate because it belies a poor understanding of when busses actually arrive. An accurate analogy is a carousel aka merry-go-round.

It took a long time for me to recognize and I still don't understand the cause, but apparently every year in December, social media networks generate an incredibly incorrect opinion about cars to try to make you go crazy. At least once you see this bizarre pattern it's easier to ignore.

Instead of copper wire, I'm going to start stripping public infrastructure for sticks of RAM.
