The bigger issues of GenAI aside, it's worth considering what happened to gaming when you introduced, say, ROG Maker, Mario Maker, Twine, Warcraft 3 custom maps…

in the last case, the ultimate influence was profound. But in all, traditional game development didn't suffer or become unnecessary

Now you too can play a slowed down version of a game from 20 years ago with no actual level design or enemies and all it costs is a complete collapse of the world economy, biosphere, education system, and multiple entire creative industries.

“A review of 47 victims’ full names on Sunday found that 43 of them were left unredacted in files that were made public by the government on Friday, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. Several women’s full names appeared more than 100 times in the files. “

Read about the *other* syphilis experiments dr Cutler did, of Tuskegee Experiment fame, in Guatamala.

He did these ones in a Guatamalan prison because there he would not be bound by what little US law existed regarding informed consent and ethical experimentation

anytime I see someone in tech ask an LLM something like "convert this CSV into JSON", I want to scream
I feel like a lot of automations folks are doing with agents can probably be done mostly by shell scripts in a more deterministic fashion. Maybe just use a LLM for some categorization, instead of to do the whole thing.

it's probably Natalie Portman, who has a 5-2-2 via a neuroscience paper authored with Abigail Baird, appearing in A Powerful Noise Live with Sarah Michelle Geller (who appeared with Bacon in The Air I Breathe), and who appeared in New York, I Love You, which had a segment co-directed by Ratner.
Has someone figured out who has the lowest Erdos-Bacon-Epstein number and what it means to be that person?

Border Patrol is a huge part of the republican drive among Hispanic families in Texas

It's the main employer in many border towns, and it pays really well. I've figured for a while that South Texas would be the real battle ground for eliminating CBP

Because doing so would wipe out income for many

There's so much wrong with this administration, but something that personally makes me boil over is what he's doing to my hometown
There are so many tragedies these days and this is among them. I saw many wonderful shows at the KC when I was a kid. It never ceases to horrify me that no one (in power) is stopping this president from ravaging the country. They could learn from the folks in ICE occupied cities.

I know this from researching police salaries for a recent paper: many cities have a set of officers taking home more than $500k and they can’t really explain why

oaklandside.org/2026/01/29/o...
One Oakland police officer made $490,000 in overtime. The city can’t find records detailing much of what he did
One OPD officer logged 5,242 total working hours, racking up $490,000 in overtime pay. If he worked more than half of the time in a calendar year, why can't the city tell us what he did?

I know you want to go with the liberal smugness and shit, but the Secretary of State having a secret email server to bypass FOIA is also a symptom of “the rich and powerful think they have no consequences” which also fuels the Epstein shit.
Whether it's a Hillary Clinton staffer asking John Podesta how to make risotto or Elon Musk asking Jeffrey Epstein where he could find a party featuring child sex slaves, there's plenty of embarrassing emails on both sides.
